Prior to deciding on using Giza Egyptian Cotton for our collection of bed linen, we had seriously contemplated a fabric made from eucalyptus called Tencel. It’s the reason we travelled to Austria to visit the factory where it’s produced and to attend a two-day series of seminars hosted by the manufacturers.

We later changed our minds about opting for this fabric, but we thoroughly enjoyed the food and hospitality of Hotel Haupl in Lake Attersee and couldn’t resist the opportunity to squeeze in a visit to Salzburg. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Salzburg is famous for its Baroque architecture, for being the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and last but not least, the setting for the Sound of Music. No wonder it remains one of our favourite jaunts.
